RACE CLASSES

At the Maui Go Karters Association, we offer a variety of Race Classes to accommodate racers of all ages and skill levels. Each class is designed to provide a competitive and safe racing environment, so you can race according to your age, experience, and kart type.

Kid Kart

The Kid Kart class is for the youngest drivers starting their karting journey. These karts are specifically designed for kids, offering a safe and fun introduction to the sport. It’s all about learning the basics of racing while having fun on the track!


Cadet

The Cadet class is designed for young drivers who are progressing in their karting skills. These racers will start to learn more advanced racing techniques while still driving karts suited for their size and experience.


TaG Jr

The TaG Jr (Touch-and-Go Junior) class is for older youth drivers who are ready to handle faster karts. These drivers will race in karts equipped with a restricted TaG engine, which offers more power and speed while still being manageable for younger drivers.


TaG Sr

The TaG Sr class is for adult drivers who are racing in karts with a TaG engine. This class offers fast-paced, competitive racing and is perfect for experienced drivers looking to test their skills against others in a similar age group.


125 Shifter

The 125 Shifter class is for the most experienced and competitive drivers. These karts are equipped with a 6-speed sequential gearbox, which adds a higher level of complexity and speed. Racers in this class need advanced skills and control to navigate the track at top speeds.


LO206 (Class Not currently offered — will be added once minimum kart count is met)

The LO206 class is an entry-level class designed for both beginners and experienced racers who want a more affordable racing experience. The LO206 engine is a sealed engine designed to ensure close racing and equal competition among drivers.


KA100 (Class Not currently offered — will be added once minimum kart count is met)

The KA100 class is designed for drivers running the popular IAME KA100 100cc engine. This class offers competitive, evenly matched racing and is great for both developing drivers and adults looking for a balanced mix of speed and affordability.


80 Shifter (Class Not currently offered — will be added once minimum kart count is met)

The 80 Shifter class is designed for experienced racers looking for a high-performance karting experience. With a 6-speed gearbox and powerful 80cc engine, the 80 Shifter offers a slightly less demanding option to the 125 Shifter, providing a great balance of speed and performance with a smaller engine. This makes it easier to handle while still delivering an exciting race.


KT100 (Class Not currently offered — will be added once minimum kart count is met)

The KT100 vintage engine is a popular for enthusiasts who appreciate the classic 2-stroke engine technology and want to experience the excitement of retro karting. This class offers a unique blend of historical racing spirit and competitive performance, with the KT100 engine as a staple in the vintage karting scene.
